Neuqua Valley High School
Neuqua Valley High School is a highly rated school that offers students access to great teachers, diverse clubs and activities, adequate college preparation, and reasonable levels of diversity. There are currently 3,477 students ranging from grades 9 to 12. The student-teacher ratio sits at 16 to 1, meaning there are more than enough teachers for students to get a positive experience.
The Neuqua Valley High School campus initially opened in 1997. It was built to house approximately 3,000 students. The campus currently consists of two primary locations. There is the Birkett Freshman Center and The Main Campus. The Main Campus houses sophomores, juniors, and seniors, while the freshman center is used to educate the first-year students.
Awesome Music Program
Music lovers and their children may also be attracted to Neuqua Valley High School because of its stellar music program. The school has received recognition from the Grammy Association and has been named a GRAMMY signature school, even winning “Best in Nation” in 2005 and 2013.
The school also has a marching band that performs at all of the home football games. This program offers students an excellent opportunity to engage in group musical performances that stimulate and excite their friends, family, and community. The band is also quite esteemed, having placed in the top three bands in the University of Illinois Marching Band Championships several times.
This school has good athletic facilities that allow students to engage in a variety of engaging activities. One of the facilities includes an 8-lane, 25-yard indoor swimming pool that is 13 feet deep. In addition, the pool is equipped with two diving boards and a diving well, as well as a 3-lane, 20-yard warm-up pool.
For land sports, there are three gymnasiums, two of which have full-sized basketball courts. The third gymnasium is used for gymnastics. There is also a full-sized wrestling room, a weight room, and a rock climbing wall. Finally, the outdoor facilities cannot be forgotten — a full-sized football field, soccer field, and rubber running track are also located on the campus.
